Chinese Lantern in Hamilton

Ordered take out and was not disappointed! I grew up loving the Chinese Lantern and the combination fried rice is exactly as I remember. Delicious! I was sad the imperial egg roll is gone but the chicken egg roll was good. Everything was very hot when I arrived and was still hot when I arrived home 20 minutes later. Hands down the best Chinese food in Hamilton or Liberty township. This will be a regular go to.

The food was good but what really stands out is the level of Covid protections this place has enacted. Between the plastic sheeting and hazmat suits I'm sure they could even successfully run their business in Pripyat, Ukraine let alone the redneck wasteland that is Hamilton, OH (I still love you, Hamilton, but you know what I'm talking about).

It doesn't delivery! Sucks! Food is kinda the same, EXCEPT, I LOVED the size of the old shrimp. These are good, being not over cooked like a lot of Chinese places. And theres no shrimp egg rolls.😬 Dinner price more expensive than take out menu. Lilltle boy who seats u is so cute and the 3 woman i met there were just so lovely and helpful. So i will still be making this the best Chinese food in HAMILTON, that i will order from, better deal. Thanks for the free snacks of oranges.

Excellent food and service. Lunch prices were very affordable and service was great!!!! I had he cashew chicken, fried rice, egg roll and hot and sour soup. Best Asian food around.

I like this restaurant! They give high class food, their menu is nice, The chef in that spot is a specialist, I enjoy very much trying all their dishes. The dishes are consistently fresh and tasty, the service towards the guests is nice. I often go to this restaurant and I not even once was disappointed. I recommend this place.

Best Asian food I've had in a long time. Many options for vegetarians like me. Service was great and the restaurant was spotless. We will definitely return often.

The food is similar to the Chinese Lantern, but it is NOT exactly the same. The menu has most of the dishes that were on Sherry's menu, but the new owner has changed the way the food is prepared, so don't expect "exactly" what you used to get. For example, the Schezuan sauce is not the same, the House or Egg roll sweet and sour sauce is not the same, and the egg rolls are not the same.However, the new owner is very accommodating to special requests and the food is still made with quality meats and veggies. Plus, the food is still good - it's just not the same as it used to be when Sherry owned the restaurant.

Definitely not as good as the old Chinese Lantern but to be fair I will say it has improved since the opening. My lunch today was very similar in taste to the old restaurant most people were so fond of. I say give this one a second chance.

Love the food an the prices r so affordable

Went there last night. Only one waitress and it was her 2nd day on a Friday night. Took an hour to get our food and saw 2 other tables walk out and cancel in the meantime. The combos are a $1 more to eat in which makes no sense. Also the portion sizes are really small. My husband got the sweet and sour chicken and he got maybe 6 pieces and the sweet and sour sauce was really watered down. Also gave just a small scoop of rice. Terrible will not ever go back.

Good food, fast service a d reasonable prices

New owners since the last time we were there (as of April 2019). The menu is a little different from the original restaurant but the food was excellent, service was friendly and prompt. We all had different dishes and all were delicious.

Very good meal. I had sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice and green tea. Very good and reasonably priced

I ordered the lunch special sesame chicken. It came out quickly and tasted delicious. My server was really nice and it was a good atmosphere. I will be back.

I had the Orange Chicken, hot & sour soup, and spring rolls. The food was very good. It has just opened and it shows in the service. There was only one waitress on Friday night. This was not good. Good food, needs more help urgently

I celebrated my birthday last night in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that we passed a wonderful evening and the venue was unquestionably one of the reasons for the happy evening. The team helped in a graceful way, the food was great and my buddies were so delighted. We shall no dout come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Good hot and sour soup, crab rangoons. Enjoyed the bourbon chicken and cashew chicken.

Best Asian food in the area including Oxford and West Chester. And they appreciate your business. I feel cherished by the new management.

Had to change my last post due to another change in ownership. I have eaten here for over 30 years. There has been a few changes in ownership. The first owners were attempting to continue preparing the food the same. Now ownership changed hands again. Sign says food has changed, we had general tso's chicken, it was good but the fried rice was not so hot. Would consider ordering it again next time with white rice.

I have loved this place and their food since high school!

Don't let the exterior fool you, the food in this place is awesome. The young wait staff is very attentive. I have had several dishes here and each one has been very good. I would hold this place up to any other Asian restaurant in Butler County. The prices aren't bad either.

This family owned Asian restaurant has delicious food, fast friendly service, and a quiet relaxing atmosphere. Definitely worth a try for lunch or dinner.

My first time here was great! I got a lot of recommendations for this place, and they were well earned!! The general tso's was excellent, the service was excellent, and the fortune cookie was fresh! Definitely will be returning!

Disappointed at first, since I was last there the restaurant has changed hands again. The new owners have gone back to the Americanized Chinese dishes. While I was hoping for authentic dishes I can not hold that against them. That saying: the food was very good and served at the right temperature. Service was excellent!! It was very refreshing to sit down in a restaurant and not have to yell across the table to be heard.

Was the worst experience for my family and I, arrived at 6.35pm Saturday evening, was seated right away! Got our drinks and ordered taken. Was downhill from there, asked several times up to 8.10pm when our dinner will be served. At 8.15pm we decided to leave and then they started to bring out the appetizers with the food. There where an older couple waiting longer then we where, the restaurant was more worried about the carryout orders then the customers that where waiting for service. Lack of management and servers to keep up with the customers.

if you have not went to this newly opened asian lantern ,then your missing out , on the good food they are dishing out I have ate about every Chinese place around here and farther out and the people running this place seems to know how to cook and don't get this place mixed up with the other owners they are new owners now go meet them and enjoy yourself.

Very delicious and good prices!

Poor flavor& Portion sizes are small. Fried rice is weird textured and flavored. Crab rangoons are the size of a meatball not like any I've had before, taste like cream cheese. Would never order again!! Spent $53 and everyone was disappointed and now I get to cook a really late dinner. Not happy I'd give negative stars of I could. I've never left a bad review. I just won't review but this place was terrible! China House or Cina Inn
